One normal day in Anacapa Middle school, our teachers started talking to us all about the options we have on going into a high school. We heard Foothill is a academic school and is in the top 20 high schools in the state., buena and Ventura were schools where their was gangsters, cool kids and had a lot of trouble in it. I thought to myself in every single school. Would I go to Buena or Ventura to maybe be made fun of, or would I go to Foothill, where you will have a better learning experience.
Well I had to make my decision. I didn’t Know what I was going to do . But I wanted to have a good future, so I had to go to college and attend high school.
It was a really hard decision. My head told me that if I went to Foothill, my writing and my weak skills would be better. My heart had a different thing to say. It told me that if I went to Buena, I would have more fun because my friends were going their and because many kids there are funny in class. I didn't know if I should go with my hearts point of view or my heads.
I hadn't done any research but I heard a lot about each school. I heard that Foothill was in the top 20 schools in California. For Buena I heard that their was many fights and kids just picked fights with other random kids so I didn’t want to be one of them. It was coming time when the high school applications were almost due. In the dinner table my mom, dad, and me sat down and talked. My mom told me that I should go to foothill so I can have higher level teachers (such as Mr. Geib) and I would learn a lot more. My sister hadn’t made it to foothill so she also wanted me to go. So I decided to go to Foothill and I waited for that special card.
I got the letter from Foothill that said that I made it into Foothill. My parents and I were happy. Now I am here and hope that my weak skills get better.
